The RAPID DRY project will produce the following results:

a) Prototype dryer with the following performance:

150 SANITARYWARE PIECES per cycle;

reduction of THERMAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION by 34% per kg of fired piece;

reduction of ELECTRIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION by 21% per kg of fired piece;

total REDUCTION OF CO2 EMISSIONS by 39% per kg of fired piece.

b) New formulations of VC and FC slips with the following performance:

REDUCTION OF PRIMARY RAW MATERIALS CONSUMPTION by 5-15% by introducing secondary raw materials;

REDUCTION IN THE COST of VC and FC slips by about -8% compared to the standard.

Both technologies are expected TO REDUCE THE DRYING CYCLE to 8/10 hours.

c) Demonstrations in operational environment that fully validate the technology:

Trials performed on 2700 sanitaryware bodies with standard Italian slips;

Demonstrations on 2700 sanitaryware bodies in ROMANIA and 1200 pieces of tableware in ITALY.
